A couple of weeks ago, we were the lucky winners in a
Zuke's giveaway hosted by
Dachshund Nola. We received our treats yesterday! Thanks Dachshund Mom!!
I have long been a fan of Zuke's. Their products are made in the USA, contain natural ingredients, and my dogs love them!
We received three packages of their Lil' Links.
We received the Rabbit & Apple treats in our
October Spoiled Rotten Box, and they have proved to be a huge hit, as have the Pork & Apple and Chicken & Apple treats. They all contain the specified protein as the primary ingredient, along with apples, veggies, and beneficial herbs. They are also grain-free!!
The herbs are rosemary, turmeric, and sage. Rosemary is a known antioxidant, and is widely used as a preservative. Sage is a natural antimicrobial, and is said to be good for gum and digestive tract health. Turmeric has gained notoriety because it has been proven to alleviate pain, particularly arthritic and cancer pain, in both humans and animals.
The treats are the size of little Tootsie Rolls, and easily break in half for training purposes. They also have a strong, but not unpleasant, smell. This is probably one of the reasons, along with their soft texture, that they are so appealing to my dogs.
All three have taken these without any hesitation, including my resident treat snob/weirdo-Faolan.
