Zuke's All Natural Dog Treats

A couple of weeks ago, we were the lucky winners in a Zuke's giveaway hosted by Dachshund Nola.  We received our treats yesterday!  Thanks Dachshund Mom!!

I have long been a fan of Zuke's.  Their products are made in the USA, contain natural ingredients, and my dogs love them!

We received three packages of their Lil' Links.
Zuke's Chicken and Apple

Zuke's Rabbit and Apple

Zuke's Pork and Apple
We received the Rabbit & Apple treats in our October Spoiled Rotten Box, and they have proved to be a huge hit, as have the Pork & Apple and Chicken & Apple treats.  They all contain the specified protein as the primary ingredient, along with apples, veggies, and beneficial herbs.  They are also grain-free!!

The herbs are rosemary, turmeric, and sage.  Rosemary is a known antioxidant, and is widely used as a preservative.  Sage is a natural antimicrobial, and is said to be good for gum and digestive tract health.  Turmeric has gained notoriety because it has been proven to alleviate pain, particularly arthritic and cancer pain, in both humans and animals.

The treats are the size of little Tootsie Rolls, and easily break in half for training purposes.  They also have a strong, but not unpleasant, smell.  This is probably one of the reasons, along with their soft texture, that they are so appealing to my dogs.

All three have taken these without any hesitation, including my resident treat snob/weirdo-Faolan.

I am very pleased with these, and once again, thanks to Dachshund Nola!!

Disclaimer-I won these treats.  I was not asked to review them.  All opinions are strictly my own.

Halloween Costumes for Dogs-What I Would Dress my Hooligans as

I have only ever dressed up one of my dogs, on one occasion.  We took Neeko to a dog park for a time when she was a puppy/young dog, and they had a Halloween Party there.  She was about 8.5 months old, and we decided to dress her us as Little Red Riding Hood, for the irony.  We actually used a little girl's costume, as she was still growing at the time and could fit in it.

We took the cape off, so as not to be a safety hazard.
Little Red, enjoying a drink.

There was a costume contest, voted on by all in attendance.  Neeko won!!  We received a gift card to a local pet supplies store.

I know some are opposed to dressing a dog up, but if the dog isn't bothered by the costume, or potentially put in harm's way, I personally see no problem with it.

If I were to dress Neeko up this year, I would almost certainly dress her as princess, because that is what she is.  She knows it, too.  Something like this-

Bruce is a tougher selection.  He has so many personality quirks, not that that's a bad thing.  Sometimes I think he has a split personality, so this costume might be perfect for him.

Sweet, silly Faolan.  He makes me laugh daily, so I would play on that and dress him as a jester.

Does anyone plan on dressing their dogs up for Halloween? If so, what are they dressing up as?
